Privacy, in plain language.
The short version first. The long version below.
TL;DR
- Your memories and conversations live on your device.
- We don't sell your data. Ever.
- We don't train our models on your chats.
- When we need to call an AI model, we route through our own proxy so providers don't get your identity.
- You can delete everything from Settings → Data & Storage.
What we collect
To run the service, we need: your email (for your account), basic usage metrics (did the app crash, how long did a request take), and — for the character interactions you have — the content of those interactions routes through our inference proxy temporarily so the character can respond. We don't log message content beyond what's needed to deliver the response.
What we don't collect
We don't build advertising profiles. We don't track you across apps. We don't sell your email or your usage data. We don't train on your conversations. We don't sell aggregated "insights" to data brokers.
On-device first
Your memory store — the notes about you that let characters recognize you across sessions — lives on your device. Video decomposition, face detection, and a lot of the image analysis all run on-device using Apple's Vision and Speech frameworks. We only send to the cloud what has to go there.
Third parties
We route AI model calls through xAI (Grok), OpenAI, Anthropic, and ElevenLabs, through our own inference proxy. Those providers see the request content to generate a response, but they don't receive your identity or your name. We pay them per-call so they have no incentive to retain or train on your content, and their contracts with us forbid it.
Your rights
You can export all your data from the app. You can delete it all from Settings → Data & Storage. You can cancel anytime without losing access immediately — we don't hold your data hostage to a cancellation flow.
